Dean Martin was an icon when I was growing up. In fact, my daddy could sing just like him. I used the Aunt Blanche kit by Ice Princess Scrapz to commemorate his career. You can get this great kit at MissBeeHavenDesignz, click here.

The second layout is of Lili doing some volunteer work with her mommy for Cost Cutter's. They cut the hair for the homeless at American the Beautiful Park just outside downtown Colorado Springs. Lili and all the other kid volunteers passed out the food and drinks.

When I saw this kit I immediately thought of all the times I was served as a kid tomato soup or alphabet soup. I served these same soups to my kids and now my grandkids eat them. I got this kit called ALPHABET SOUP designed by Priceless Digi Designs at MissesBeeHavenDesignz. Show off your kid's messy faces full of tomato soup all over it....

My Girls Started 1st Grade today

The girls started school today! First graders!!! My goodness time goes by so fast. Both the girls are going to the same school but have different teachers. They're both very smart and I expect they'll just fit right in and have a great year. Good luck my girls!

Even Trent got in on this picture. This last one is of open house and they played on the playground to break it in.

I hope everyone had a happy 4th of July. I made these layouts in memory of my Uncle Roy. Even though I didn't know him at the time the pictures were taken, what he did for our country was very important and I'm proud.

Easter 2009 found me in Dallas. Angie and Lili moved to Texas and I helped her and was able to stay 2 weeks. So I took lots of pictures at Easter.

This one is of Mother, Jan, Julie and Sarah: 4 Generations. It's amazing to see that the grandkids are getting so big, much less being old enough to have grandkids.

This was the first time that Lili had spent Easter with the Texas family and the first time I hadn't been with Tim, Sarah, Isabel and Trent. That was tough, but it was nice to be with the family again.

The kids had a great time. Jan and crew had hidden almost 300 eggs for the 5 kids to find. Grand prize was a $5 bill, Chadin (the youngest) won

If you look closely you can see eggs all over the ground. Dillon was kind of upset that he was too old this year to hunt... but that's part of growing up. All the kids got along and had a good time and everyone gathered a LOT of eggs. It's such a joy to watch the kids have fun!

They gathered so many eggs that each child had to have a plastic bag to put their goodies in while they went out and hunted some more. There was money and candy, so everyone came out okay. There were no squabbles, just lots of running and looking. Lili was in awe of the amount of eggs to find. She'd never seen that many!

Here's one that's close to my heart. I miss Lili so much my heart hurts, so I work on my layouts and see her every day. She has always been a part of my life (so it seems) that when she left part of my heart went with her.

Here she is as our little Easter bunny. The picture was taken over Angie's phone so it's not the best but it was precious that I had to use it!

I hope you like the Easter pictures. I will post some of Trent and Isabel very soon. I have gotten to see them more since Angie and Lili left. It's been great!

Hi All! Lot's of things have been happening here in Colorado. The kids are growing FAST and time is marching by. I hope you enjoy the layouts I've created .

The first 2 are really close to my heart and believe me they have a few tears on them. Angie and Lili are moving back to Dallas the first of April. Man, is this hard. We've never been separated for more than a few weeks since Angie was born and now ...

Of course I have to create Valentine pictures.

Look at my kids.... where has the time gone. They're all grown up and I'm just getting old.

We have had unseasonably warm weather for November here in Colorado. Tonight they're predicting snow flurries and a high of only 35 degrees for Thursday. That's Colorado weather, blink and it changes. I had my cousin, David, scan some of the pictures of back-in-the-day when I was younger and some of the older family photos so I've been working on that. Here's some of the ones I've done. Hope you like them.

The layout above is the first "colorized" attempt I've ever done... it's gonna take lots of practice to get it right!

It's been a long time since I was here, but I've got a lot to share with you. Lili went on vacation with her Dad and Stepmom, Ashley, beginning July 3rd. They went to North Carolina where they stayed on an island just off the coast of No.Carolina. These are the pictures that Ashley sent me.

These pictures were taken at their house in Kansas right after Lili got there.

Hi... I've undertaken something I've never done before and I'm quite excited about it. I will be hosting a lyric challenge for Deco-Pages monthly, beginning May 1st. It's Friday and man am I glad. Our weather turned cold today, snowed a little, icy roads and such. tomorrow's suppose to be in the 60's. Can't wait. I love the weather here and if you don't like the weather today, blink and it will change.

I've been going through my old pictures and found some that I think you'll remember.

This is Sarah (Julie's daughter) singing karaoke at Mother and Daddy's 50th Anniversary party. She was almost 3 here. She's such a cutie! Here's another one of Sarah. These pictures are beautiful of this precious young girl.

Some of the pictures I use you may see the whole picture and some you may just see the portrait. That's what's so nice about digital scrapbooking is that you don't have to have multiple pictures of the same shot to reuse it. I'm having such a great time doing this.

The birth of Lili was pretty exciting for me. I got to be there when she was born and I keep her all the time even now. I ran across these pictures and thought that all of you that don't live here would like to see them.

Lili was born September 12, 2003. The picture of Angie was taken just days from giving birth to Lili. She got so big that she was totally uncomfortable. The other picture is right after she was born.

For these 2 layouts I used "Sunshiny Day" kit by Darlene Haughin. This is my first kit from her. I just became a member of her Creative Team this week.

One of the best memories you have of your children is their 1st smile, 1st time they walked, 1st word.... Below are pictures of Lili from one of her first smiles to a great big one...

Mother asked me yesterday why I gave credit to the designers and the kits I use. My reply to her was that I can't take credit for any of their designs. All I do is take their designs and work it around the picture(s) I choose to use. I have the right to lighten or darken the designs. I get their kits in exchange for giving them credit here and in the websites that I post in. It's a fair trade and I love doing it.

I could add a dozen more layouts right now, but I think I'll save some for another day.

Lili and Angie went to the zoo last week and took these fabulous pictures of what they saw. Thayne (Angie's bf) and Marin (Thayne's cousin) also went and they loved playing with the animals.

The picture at the beginning of this post is my favorite. Angie took it of a peacock at the zoo. Isn't it beautiful?

That's Marin getting a kiss from a giraffe. She must not have liked it cuz the next picture shows her sticking her tongue out at him.

The next one shows that even Thayne got a kiss from a giraffe. Ok, Angie, where's the picture showing your kiss from the giraffe?

Thayne enjoyed playing with the birds. I hesitate to say that he's a "birdbrain" but I will... hehehe.

Actually I haven't seen Lili in any of these pictures... did she even go? I'm sure that Angie took the pictures because she told me they came off her new phone. Phone cameras, who woulda thought?

Hey, I found a layout I did that has Lili in it (she's the one in the pink coat). They were looking at the gorillas, relatives I understand....

The layout titled "Celebrate Freedom" is what I see out my front window (Pikes Peak). Isn't it lovely? The picture next to it is a memorial to Katherine Lee Bates who wrote the words to "America the Beautiful". She wrote this song after being at the top of the peak and seeing the amber waves of grain and purple mountains majesty. You can see forever from there.

The picture was taken by my best friend Gwen Thompson when she visited me YEARS ago. It's time to come see me again, Gwen. There's plenty more spots for you to take some good pictures.

A Lot to share

Oh my gosh but do I have a lot to share... I've done a lot of layouts lately and I hope you like them. The kids are getting bigger and bigger. Trent is 5 months old now and laughing all the time. The girls will be registering for kindergarten next month (doesn't seem possible, does it?).

The layout below is the latest picture of Trent, taken on Easter Sunday. We all got together at Angie's house for steak and visiting time. It was good to see Tim, Sarah, Isabel and Trent. I used Jen Maceyunas Iris & Organzas kit to make this layout of Trent and Isabel.

I've been getting kind of sentimental lately looking at all the old pictures I have. This one of MawMaw, Tim and Julie was taken in 1981 (a long time ago), now the kids have kids older than they were here.

Hi! Welcome to my new blog. I've never done this before, but it's the new thing so I must adapt. No really, I want to do this. Hope you come back often since I'll be sharing the layout designs for Deco-Pages, Scrapkitten and SKrapper Digitals designs.

I'm pretty busy with work, grandkids and digital scrapping. I'm currently on the Creative Team for Deco-Pages and Scrapkitten plus individual designers SKrapper Digitals, Deb Ammerman, Dana Conditt, Kathie Woolery and Ilona Hamp.
They keep me pretty busy, but it's so much fun!

I just did a few layouts using Scrapkitten's "Doggy Daze" kit. It's bright, colorful and has lots and lots of cool elements. The first layout is of my first "baby". We found her when she was just a puppy and she lived to be almost 18 years old. She's been gone a long time!

The next one is of Remi, my daughter's ex-roommate's dog. She was a lot of dog, very playful and allowed my granddaughter to do things like his to her.

I did a layout using her "Daddy Dearest" kit. These elements reminded me so much of my grandfather that I had to scan this picture so I could do a layout of it. I did this drawing 3 days after my PawPaw died when I was 18 years old. It's displayed on my bedroom wall where I can see him everyday. He's been gone 38 years now. You can get this kit here:
